About
Plastic Back is an innovative company focused on upcycling plastic waste into crude oil. They target to process 100,000 tons of plastic waste by 2028, utilizing a low-temperature, chemical process that breaks down difficult waste streams like PVC, mixed, and multilayer plastics. Their unique approach includes the depolymerization of plastic polymers via radical anion attack. The company’s process is carbon-negative and aims at creating new products from recycled plastics. They have developed an IP with Prof. Yoel Sasson and Dr. Uri Stoin of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Relevancy
Plastic Back contributes to the energy sector by creating a sustainable source of crude oil from recycled plastics, reducing waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
